High resolution spectra of six giants belonging to galactic globular clusters have been obtained. Accurate abundance determinations of various elements have been obtained means of model atmosphere analysis. The O(39) index becomes extremely sensitive to a change in metallicity in objects with Fe/H greater than - 1, ruling out the linearity of the relation O(39) = f(Fe/H). the overabundance of alpha-elements found by previous authors is confirmed. The results are discussed in the light of models of self-enrichment of globular clusters.
