Based on a technique previously applied to nonrelativistic jets, a calculation of a relativistic jet is proposed, and it is shown that the resulting flow is very similar in character to those found in nonrelativistic jets. Under certain simplifying assumptions concerning the emission mechanism, the synchrotron emission from the jet is estimated for different viewing angles between it and an oberver's line-of-sight. The possibility that jets in some extragalactic sources have velocities close to that of light can help explain why the internal pressures deduced within the knots of certain jets are sometimes much brighter than the supposed confining pressure.
