Scientific paper

The authors present ASCA observations of the nearby star-forming dwarf galaxies NGC 1569 and 4449. Combining the ASCA data with archival ROSAT PSPC and HRI data they have investigated the X-ray emission at different physical scales (from 0.1 kpc to 3 kpc) as well as the spectral emission characteristics of these objects over about a factor 70 in energy (from 0.1 keV to 7 keV).
