The authors observed the center portion of the Cygnus Loop with ASCA. The X-ray spectrum of the center is significantly different from that obtained at the northeast (NE) rim. The emission lines from Si and S are quite strong while those from O and continuum are similar to those obtained at the NE rim. To evaluate the emission inside the shell, the authors subtracted the spectrum of the NE rim from the center and fitted a non-equilibrium ionization model.
