First tests (on two fields) of the cross-matching of SIMBAD and the Guide Star Catalogue have been performed for the TYCHO project. Some results are given here concerning : 1) the contents of the GSC and SIMBAD in these regions; 2) the difficulties and outputs of the cross-matching. On the basis of this limited test, the authors estimate that the complete work shall require 8 man-years.
