Be/X-ray binaries and supergiant systems represent the general class of high mass X-ray binaries. 2S 0114+65 is certainly a HMXB but there is some discussion about which of the previous groups it belongs to. Crampton et al. (1985) argue that it could have an evolved optical companion (SXRB) instead of a BIII-Ve star as suggested by Koenigsberger et al. (1983) and Apparao et al. (1991). Based on optical spectroscopy and photometry the authors have classified the optical counterpart of 2S 0114+65 as a B1 supergiant of luminosity class Ia and they have been able to derive its astrophysical parameters. The X-ray luminosity was shown to agree with that derived from a stellar wind model by which due to the high mass-loss rates of the primary the compact star is able to accrete an appreciable quantity of matter from its strong stellar wind.
