The influence of the gravity darkening effect in the formation of a non
iso-thermal photosphere on close binary stars is presented. Furthermore,
a theoretical model that describes thermal differences on the stars'
surfaces, based on the temperature gradient equations, has been
constructed. Application on TY Pup has been made and presented.
