The authors have used the available IUE spectra of VW Hyi to derive the cooling timescale of the accretion-heated white dwarf following dwarf nova outbursts. The cooling time is significantly longer after a superoutburst than after a normal outburst. The authors compare these results with the findings for other dwarf novae and discuss further implications.
