The young star cluster Westerlund 2 is located at the center of the giant H II region RCW 49, and is the likely energy source for this extended radio/optical/X-ray nebula. The authors report the results of a ROSAT HRI observation showing that part of the diffuse X-ray emission from Westerlund 2 can be spatially resolved into three point sources. One of these sources can be identified with the only Wolf-Rayet star known in this cluster.
