The Lynds catalog of dark nebulae is used to study the geometrical nature of the darkest, opacity class 5 and 6, clouds. In the study, 24 clouds that are well separated from background confusion are selected, and the area and perimeters are found using the method of Henderson-Sellars (1986). Results suggest that the smaller darker clouds of the Lynds catalog may be fractal objects of dimension D = 1.4, although it is noted that this result is tentative due to the limited data set.
