The authors report the detection of photospheric calcium absorption
lines in the white dwarf star G200-39 (DBAZ4). The abundance of calcium
relative to that of hydrogen is approximately solar, a result which
lends support to the hypothesis that accretion of interstellar matter is
responsible for hybrid composition white dwarfs.
