High dispersion spectra in the visual region of V1016 Cyg show little change in line profiles as compared with spectra taken in the interval 1978 - 1982. The radial velocity which rose from -73 km s-1 to -64 km s-1 between 1978 and 1980 has remained year near -64 km s-1 from 1982 to 1985. These data limit any orbit of high inclination to a period greater than about 25 yr or to a large eccentricity. If the system consists of a binary with an orbit of low inclination then the double-peaked profiles seen in many forbidden lines may be due to a bipolar flow roughly perpendicular to the plane of the orbit.
