The Naumova-Ogorodnikov (1973) method for estimating the total masses of star clusters is extended to the case when the cluster velocity and the dispersion of peculiar star-field velocities are comparable. The moments of the first and second orders of peculiar velocity variations for field stars in the neighborhoods of clusters are determined. It is concluded that the proposed approach can be used to estimate the total masses and tangential velocities of giant molecular clouds near the sun.
