The effect of pressure anisotropy on geomagnetic tail oscillations is studied using the Chew-Goldberger-Low equations. It is shown that anisotropy of the solar wind plasma pressure may result in generation of waves, assuming no waves in the case of isotropy. Anisotropy of the plasma pressure in the magnetospheric tail may also cause a basic distortion of the oscillation spectra.
