The author statistically analyses the relation between the sudden ionospheric disturbances (class ≥3¯) and solar flares, obtaining the following results: (1) 88% of the SID events bear probable solar flares company; (2) 82% of the SID bear solar X-ray flares company; (3) The rate (49%) for the SID occurring after the solar flare is higher than the rate (39%) for it before; (4) The rate for it occurring with the solar flare is about 12%.
