Deep CCD photometry for the sparse galactic globular cluster Palomar 12 down to V of about 23.5 is presented. Stellar photometry was carried out using two distinct codes for crowded field photometry (DAOPHOT and INVENTORY), the former one resulting better for the present Pal 12 frames. A comparison with existing photometry for the cluster (Harris and Canterna, 1980) shows systematic differences, probably due the calibration of secondary images provided by the Racine prism used by Harris and Canterna. The atypical small value of the magnitude difference between the horizontal branch and the main sequence turn-off still rides out. The obvious interpretation is that Palomar 12 is about 30 percent younger than the bulk of globular clusters of the present Galaxy.
