This paper compares the computational efficiencies of several numerical integrators in the construction of precise numerical ephemerides of orbits with middle or large eccentricities. The authors recommend the method named RKNF, which directly integrates second-order differential equations and has never been used in domestic researches on orbit dynamics. Their numerical computation has shown that the 7th order embedding method, RKNF78, is generally applicable, highly efficient and easy to program.
