In the framework of the method of quasiclassical quantization the regularized free energy of closed supermembranes is calculated on the background S1 (temperature) xR10-dxTd, where Td is the d-dimensional torus in d = 2, 7. The Hagedorn critical temperature is obtained, and the early stage of evolution is discussed in the context of supermembrane cosmology.
