Reconstruction of astronomical images is performed with phase-retrieval methods from autocorrelation or, equivalently, power-spectrum data estimated by applying stellar speckle interferometry to photon-limited, turbulence-degraded, short-exposure images. Results are presented that are obtained from real data and also from computer-simulated data. Comparisons are made of the results depending both on the phase retrieval method used and on whether the available information is imposed in the object space (autocorrelation) or in the spatial frequency space (power spectrum).
