X Persei, a variable emission line star, is examined, in terms of visual luminosity, excess in the Balmer continuum and in the IR, and X-ray emission. From observations with the International Ultraviolet Explorer, it is found that a large-acceleration stellar wind takes place in the upper atmosphere. In addition, observed optical and IR variations are determined to have probably taken place in higher atmospheric layers, as no significant variation of line intensity and profile is noted. The entire optical-IR spectrum is found to vary with a larger amplitude in the IR, suggesting that it could be the result of two contributors. Finally, X-ray flux variations seemed to be associated with X Persei activity indicating that origin occurred near X Persei, but further examination is necessary for confirmation.
