The variable shell B0.5 star HD 184279 exhibits radial velocity and line profile variations with a period of about four years. Correlations are noted between radial velocity, line profiles, equivalent widths and central depths, as in the cases of Zeta Tau and 48 Lib. The 1973 brightness decrease reported for HD 184279 by Tempesti and Patriarca (1976) is found to be comparable to the 0.5-magnitude B filter decrease reported by Sharov and Lyuty (1975) for Pleione, where a shell phase similarly appeared.
