Many distant, rich clusters contain systems of distorted images of background galaxies such as small arcs found in the A370 system. Any one image formed by gravitational lensing provides insufficient information to give strong constraints on the parameters of the lens or the source. However, a population of single images, whether they are weakly or strongly distorted, can be used to determine the structure of the lensing system. We present techniques to identify the presence of a lensed population and to locate the most likely position of the lensing potential. The source redshift distribution and the properties of the lensing potential are extracted using statistical techniques. The methods are critically limited by the width of the source ellipticity distribution.
