Data from the literature and from detailed petrographic and mineralogical investigations of more than one thousand chondrules from nonequilibrium ordinary chondrites are used in proposing a modification of the classification of these chondrules. With this modification, more attention is to be given to their shape, structure, and mineralogical composition and to the shape of the components of their mineral aggregates.
