This report summaries A.L.P.O. solar section observations for rotations 1818-1823 July 19 to December 29, 1989, particularly in terms of the morphology and development of sunspot groups. Twenty-four observers in five nations contributed visual drawings and integrated-light and H-alpha photographs. Solar activity tended to increase in this period; the highest rotational means were slightly lower, but the lowest means were somewhat higher, than those for the previous reporting period (Rotations 1813-1817).
