A maximum zenithal hourly rate of the order of several hundred meteors/hour was exhibited by the Giacobinid meteor shower on October 8, 1985. FM radio reflection rates suggest either the following of the main maximum by a secondary one or a variation of the time of maximum with meteoroid mass. Other observational results are presented which are approximately the same as those of the Simek (1986) radar observations, which yielded a mass-distribution index of 1.99; it is inferred on these bases that the Giacobinids consist of fragile particles, and that their 1985 composition did not substantially differ from that observed in 1933 and 1946.
