The results of aperture photometry for approximately 250 spiral galaxies in clusters are presented. Magnitudes have been computed on the total blue scale following the precepts of de Vaucoulers et al. (1976). Comparison of the derived total blue magnitudes with the equivalent photographic magnitudes derived from Zwicky magnitudes, using the conversion formulas of Dickel and Rood (1978) and Peterson (1979), reveals a clear bias. Converted Zwicky magnitudes overestimate the total blue luminosity by at least 0.5 mag for galaxies with M(Z) greater than 14.5. It is shown that if these converted Zwicky magnitudes are used as the basis for estimating the blue luminosity, then the resulting value of the ratio of the hydrogen mass to blue luminosity will be systematically lower. This effect is most pronounced for the more distant clusters where most of the cataloged spirals are at the faint end. Therefore, some low values of the hydrogen mass to blue luminosity ratio arise from inappropriate luminosities, opposed to real reductions in H I mass.
