Previously published data is combined with extentions of VLA data on optically-selected QSOs from the 6 cm wavelength to 3.5, 10 and 20 microns, to examine potential differences between spectral flux distributions of radio-loud and radio-quiet QSOs. It is found that some objects have steep spectral distributions in the IR which are similar to the flux distribution of the type 2 Seyfert galactic nucleus NGC 1085, and that most low-redshift quasars have a type of spectral distribution similar to that of objects with strongly nonthermal characteristics. Some high-redshift quasars that are radio-quiet exhibit flat flux distributions. The question of whether this flat flux distribution phenomenon indicates a weak, nonthermal contribution at UV wavelengths in the rest system of these objects, which could be related to the low radio emission, is addressed.
