The influence of shock phenomena on the structure of several disk-components in the Galaxy is examined. The theoretically calculated radial velocity of gas at a distance of about 3 kpc from the galactic center is shown to disagree with the observed radial velocity of the 3-kpc arm of the Galaxy, and the disagreement is reconciled when the existence of a strong shock wave in the central region of the Galaxy is taken into consideration. The observed velocity of expansion of the gaseous rings and complexes behind the propagating nuclear explosion shock fronts is used to calculate the time elapsed since the explosion, and to estimate the amount of energy released. The total energy emitted by radiation is found to be connected with the intensity of the magnetic field and the initial shock temperature, and the high energy radiation emitted in the cooling process is suggested as a source for the heating of dust grains, which are ultimately radiated in the infrared spectrum.
