Benevides-Soares and Boczko have proposed a method for the determination of division corrections of a divided circle that has great merit. The authors suggest some ways to deal with peaks in the power spectrum of the experimental errors. It is shown here that elimination of such peaks should be accomplished by careful selection of the apertures rather than the suppression of reciprocal eigenvalues of the system of normal equations for the desired division corrections. The latter procedure can lead to the introduction of systematic errors in the division corrections themselves.
