Spectroscopic observations of the X-ray sources in Cyg OB 2 were performed in order to calculate mass-loss rates from the H alpha emissions. A total of 24 stars were scanned and additional data was gathered on empirical velocities based on radio data. Smoothed spectrograms for the H alpha emissions are presented, along with radial velocities and absorption features. The stars were measured in the H, K, L, M, and N passbands with the 1.2- and 2.2-m telescopes of DASZ in Calar Alto, Spain. The most common observed features included He I, He II, and the Balmer lines, and the global presence of H alpha lines indicated extended envelopes. IR variations were determined to originate solely from eclipsing stars and in no case from the extended envelope. Velocity law calculations agreed well with derived IR fluxes due to free-free radiation in the expanding envelopes.
