Four-channel uvby photometry of AB Doradus was made during seven nights between December 8 and 21, 1984, at the European Southern Observatory. The light curves show rapid changes during a few stellar rotations. Two dark spot regions were visible in the observations. The photometry contains a flare that was simultaneous to an H-alpha flare. The observations suggest that some X-ray flares of AB Dor may not be detectable in the visual. The comparison with partly simultaneous broad band observations indicates that narrow band photometry does not have any excess sensitivity to spot-activity.
