Results are presented of photographic and CCD photometry of the super-soft X-ray transient GS 2000 + 25 obtained at Haute-Provence in 1988-1989 during the outburst decay and in quiescence. The interstellar reddening in the line of sight to the source is estimated to be E(B - V) about 1.5 mag. The R magnitude and R - I color index of the quiescent counterpart are compatible with an early K dwarf star at about 2-3 kpc is shown. Evidence for a periodic modulation with P about 4.15 h. This modulation is present in both quiescent and active states, but has a larger amplitude in the quiescent state.
