Gamma-ray emission from Mrk 421 between 300 GeV and 5 TeV is reported here with emphasis on the energy distribution. The energy spectrum of Mrk 421 is presented here for data taken during a single night of observation on May 7 1996 when the gamma-ray rate reached the highest level ever recorded by a ground-based γ-ray telescope. We also present data from large zenith angle observations to search for high energy gamma-rays in the 5 TeV range taken during 3 nights of observation in June 1995. Both data sets show no evidence for a cutoff in the spectrum up to energies of 5 TeV.
