We review the major implications of the COMPTEL gamma ray line observations of Orion. We present new calculations of the expected X-ray line and continuum emissions that accompany the observed gamma ray lines. We show that a serious conflict may exist between the predicted oxygen Kα line emission and upper limits from ROSAT. This conflict is alleviated, but not fully resolved, if the gamma rays are produced in the warm, partially ionized medium at cloud boundaries.
