The TGRS (Transient Gamma-Ray Spectrometer) experiment is a high-resolution germanium detector launched on the WIND satellite on Nov. 1, 1994. Although primarily intended to study gamma-ray bursts and solar flares, TGRS also has the capability of studying steady sources near the ecliptic plane (including the Galactic Center). We present here preliminary results on the narrow 511 keV annihilation line from the general direction of the Galactic Center obtained from the TGRS occultation mode. Data are presented for approximately 2 years beginning 1 Jan. 1995. We detect the narrow annihilation line from the galactic center with an average flux of ((1.10+/-.05)×10-3 ph cm-2 s-1). The data are consistent with a broadened source at the Galactic Center with a width ~25° in ecliptic longitude. No evidence for temporal variability on time scales longer than 1 month was found. Our results are in reasonable agreement with the OSSE 511 keV data, but there are some hints of differences in the spatial distribution at the 2σ level.
