γ-ray pulsars are grouped in two classes: ``double-peaked'' (D) and ``single-peaked'' (S) pulsars. D pulsars have phase separation between the peaks in the range 0.4-0.5, while S pulsars show broad peaks. We evaluated for two geometrical models of the emission region (polar cone and outer gap models) the probabilities to detect a D or a S pulsar, and the corresponding distribution of the peak separation and conclude that both these models are not able to explain the lack of D sources with separation less than 0.4.
