We summarize CGRO observations of supernovae, including SN 1987A, SN 1991T, and SN 1993J, and classical novae, and their impact on current understanding of those phenomena. Many important fundamental questions about these objects remain, some of which might still be addressed by future CGRO observations or by data already in hand. We briefly sketch some of these prospects.
