We will provide current information on the status and overall capabilities of the Advanced X-ray Astrophysics Facility (AXAF) scheduled for launch in August 1998. This overview will summarize effective area versus energy, angular resolution, spectral resolution, and other key scientific parameters and will include comparisons to other past and future missions such as Einstein, ROSAT, ASCA, Spectrum X-G, XMM, and Astro-E.
