UBVRI photometry of SU Cyg is presented, originally with a view to searching for possible eclipses in this binary system. Revised elements of period and maximum-light epoch were found necessary to represent photoelectric observations spanning the last 25 years. The observations are used to derive the spectral type of the binary companion; the result of B6 V confirms an earlier conclusion by Madore (1977). Intensity means of magnitude and colors for the Cepheid, freed of the effects of the companion, are derived.
