White dwarf plus main sequence binaries from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey were selected for follow-up observations. Based on radial velocity variations we have identified those systems that have gone through a common envelope phase, the so called post common envelope binaries (PCEBs). Further observations of the PCEBs candidates were carried out to measure their orbital period. We present the orbital period distribution of 65 systems detected as PCEB in an homogeneous way and representative of the SDSS-WDMS population.
