The use of synchronous reception at widely separated stations to search for short radio pulses sent by extraterrestrial civilizations and dispersed by interstellar matter is described. Decimeter and centimeter wave receivers were situated approximately 3000 km apart and correlation analysis was performed on the signals received in order to eliminate most sources of radio interference. Analysis of the amount of dispersion between high and low frequency components of the correlated pulses received thus far has attributed them all to sources within the solar system. It is concluded that further experiments with higher sensitivity and at higher frequencies are needed.
