Observations made at wavelengths of 11.1, 6.2, and 2.8 cm of the extended emission around 3C 31 are presented. The emission extending in two opposite directions from NGC 383 has been traced out to + or - 20 arcmin from the optical galaxy at 11.1 cm, implying a linear source size of 1.2 Mpc. The distribution of spectral index has been determined by comparing maps at the three frequencies. The polarization information obtained shows two polarization maxima on opposite sides of the source center, coincident with the 'hot spots' seen in high-resolution maps.
