The main aim of the KASCADE experiment is the determination of the primary energy spectrum and chemical composition of cosmic rays through the measurement of extensive air showers at energies around 4 · 1015eV, the so called knee region. An overview over the measurement and reconstruction procedures of the large field array is presented.
