Cosmology: De Sitter Universe, Cosmological Constant

In this paper a kink solution to the vacuum Einstein equations with cosmological constant Λ>0 is discussed. The solution is well-defined on the whole space-time manifold. An appropriate coordinate transformation shows the solution to be locally the same as the de Sitter solution. Globally, the two are distinct, since the light-cone field for the kink solution is homotopically nontrivial.
