Solar Flares: Hard X Rays, Solar X-Ray Bursts
Scientific paper
A method is presented for analyzing the variability of X-ray solar flares. Statistical analysis of temporal profiles of solar flare radiation shows that out of 147 observed flares only two could be distinguished in which the minimum statistically significant characteristic time scale of change by a factor of e amounted to 0.08 sec. Modeling of the temporal development of intensity using a Monte Carlo method showed that all of the more rapid changes in actual statistics of the counts from the instrument detectors can be explained as statistical fluctuations.
