The Visual Meteor Database collects world-wide data of visual meteor
observations. The analysis of meteor shower activity is based on
computer algorithms. One of them is presented in this workshop with the
example of the 2004 Perseids. The algorithm includes adaptive average
bins and outlier rejection.
