We review recent research at Colorado on the dynamics of charged dust grains in planetary magnetospheres, with emphasis on the tenuous E-Ring of Saturn. After summarizing earlier research on the equilibrium and stability of single particle orbits, we describe current work on the crucial effects of plasma sputtering on particle confinement and its implications for the Cassini mission. Finally, we suggest a few challenging problems for mathematicians.
