MARIA (Maxi Array for Rapid Imaging of γ-ray burst Activity) is a
large-area instrument that could be flown on a balloon in 1997 1999. It
is expected to contribute significantly to the GRB log N - log S
distribution and to provide rapid GRB localizations by means of a
rapidly moving gamma-camera.
