Based on the analyses of 102 individual samples and 5 composites,
totaling 155 rock samples, averages of Sc for various types of Japanese
igneous rocks have been estimated. Sc is determined by a combined
ion-exchange-spectrophotometric method. An abundance figure of 17 ppm Sc
for the crust is suggested.
