In the spring of 1993, a piece of iron was found 40 cm deep in the garden of a 250-year-old house near the village of Pisek. The spheroidal mainpiece weighed 3004 g. Three slices were cut and then polished for detailed study. The meteorite contains a large number of voids and inclusions ranging from several millimeters to 30 mm in cross section normal to the object's elongation. All these objects are elongated parallel to the longest axis of the meteorite. They show turbulent texture in the perpendicular direction, mainly at the rims of the slabs. There are three different types of inclusions. Type 1 is a mixture of irregularly shaped grains of pyroxene, silica, olivine, Si-Al-Ca glass, troilite, Fe-oxides, and C-rich particles. This type of inclusion is porous and resembles a lithic breccia. The inclusions of type 2 are the most common type. They contain silica, pyroxene, Si-Al-Ca glass, chromite, and Fe. Silica forms either massive aggregates up to several hundreds of millimeters or skeletons of laths or needles 5-25 microns long and 2-9 microns wide. Pyroxene and Si-Al-Ca glass occur as subangular grains among laths of silica. Chromite crystals (3-15 microns) often form clusters, usually associated with Fe particles. The inclusions of type 3 are the most unusual. They occur both within Fe and in the silicate inclusions of type 2. They are very porous, with vesicles elongated parallel to the longest axis of the inclusion. Inclusions of this type consist of more than 95 vol% of C matrix.
